The San Francisco 49ers are relentlessly continuing their hunt ans scout around the league for a potential player that could add significant weight to their roster depth. NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport tweeted on Wednesday, August 23, that the storied franchise is working out the former Atlanta Falcons defensive end Tyson Jackson.

The Falcons cut Jackson in March after a disappointing 2016 season campaign. The former LSU star signed a five-year contract, $25 million deal prior to the 2014 NFL season. Whoever, Jackson didn’t last the length of the five-year contract deal.
At 6’4, 296 pounds, Jackson was better suited as a 3-4 defensive end. The Atlanta switched to a 4-3 under, which is quite similar to what the San Francisco 49ers are implementing. We’re not quite not sure what the Niners plan is with him given the depth on the line. Jackson may play some defensive tackle while DeForest Buckner continues to nurse ankle injury.
