Arguably the most popular league in the United States, the National Football League (NFL) is finally upon us. The long-winded offseason is officially over and get to watch professional American football again, even if it is just an exhibition games. The Los Angeles Chargers will play host the Seattle Seahawks at StubHub Center in both teams’ 2017 NFL Preseason game opener.
The Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Chargers will be squaring off on the football field this Sunday evening. The Seahawks saw their 2016 NFL season campaign concluded in the divisional round of the playoffs in Atlanta and the Chargers haven’t played in the gridiron since Week 17 in the most recent season. The Los Angeles Chargers are in a wholly different situation than they were a season ago.
Not only the Chargers have a new head coach in Anthony Lynn, but the franchise moved over the offseason as well. The move from San Diego to Los Angeles has been very difficult on die-hard Chargers fans and spectators, but it’s not anything a winning season can’t bolt. Whether the Chargers is 1 million miles away or in their backyard, all home town fans want is for their team to rebound to the postseason playoffs. The Bolts, finished with a 5-11 record in 2016, relocated from San Diego to Los Angeles back in January 2017 and will play their home games at the StubHub Center, home to the Los Angeles Galaxy of MLS.
The Seattle Seahawks fans, on the other side of the ball, fully expect this team’s roster to bring another championship title to the west coast. It’s been a few years since their phenomenal run to the Super Bowl, but postseason catastrophe have pulverized their hopes and aspirations since then. Perhaps, this is the season the Seahakws pinpoints a way to make it back on track to professional football’s biggest game.
The Seattle Seahawks completed a record of 10-5-1 back in the previous season, but are once again considered among the top favorites to reach the Super Bowl 52. Seahawks superstar quarterback Russell Wilson is 100 percent healthy and more athletic following a meticulous offseason workout regimen and proper diet. The Legion of Boom hope running back Eddie Lacy will help the roster revive what was a mediocre running game last year. The defense unit should be stronger than ever, most certainly with free safety Earl Thomas back in the field after suffering a broken leg from last season.
Whether your a Chargers or Seahawks fanatic, both fan bases should be happy with the fact that this contest is going to be Nationally televised. The NFL Network will be carrying this exhibition matchup on Sunday night with a kick off time of 8:00 p.m. on the east coast and 5:00 p.m. on the west coast.
The Seahawks-Chargers preseason opening game will be broadcast on NFL Network. That said, it leaves numerous options to live stream online. NFL.com should have an online streaming services, but you can also watch on NFL Game Pass. These sevices requires a paid subscription to access them. Get NFL Game Pass 7-day free trial here.
