The Chinese electronics company Xiaomi often earns credits from making near-bezel-free smartphones a thing, all thanks to the commercially released Mi Mix. However, if you guys look back a quite little further, it was really Sharp’s Aquos series that brought in the now-popular design way back in 2014 in to life.
Not satisfied with being simply a marginal note in mobile industry history, Sharp is slated to launch the Aquos S2, which could very well blow away all its bezel-hating nemesis in a single shot. While these are all based on speculations and rumors so far, this leaked render looks both persuasively convincing and incredibly attractive to the eyes of consumers.
While this is based completely on rumors, the Sharp Aquos S2’s primary edge is in its use of a 4K resolution display covering the entire front panel of it. More interesting, is the fingerprint symbol pictured on near the bottom of the device, which could signify the use of Under Display technology similar to what Vivo — in collaboration with Qualcomm — unveiled at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 in Shanghai.
If the Sharp Aquos S2’s design quite looks a little too familiar, you may be thinking of the Android co-founder Andy Rubin Essential Phone, which still hasn’t been out in the shelves because of in-house difficulties. This other leaked image of the Sharp Aquos S2 smartphone can even be called a direct take on the Essential’s promotional materials.
Though it seems like Sharp is just replicating the best of each manufacturers brand’s signature specs and features, working all these into one avant-garde smartphone that could set the standard for high-end smartphones to come.
All this rumors ans speculations will end soon according to the official invitation from Sharp. The reveal for the Aquos S2 is set for August 8 — just couple weeks away!
